What We Offer

Two Advisory Practice Areas

Saffron Valley Advisors operates two distinct advisory practices. Both share the same vendor-neutral approach and written-deliverable standard. Each is grounded in direct operational experience.

Practice Area 01

Equine Advisory

Technology selection, health monitoring, IoT infrastructure, and grant identification for equine operations across Northern New Jersey.

Our Position

Why Saffron Valley Advisors

Three things that separate practitioner advisory from consultant advisory. They are not marketing claims — they are structural features of how this practice operates.

01

We Run the Systems We Advise On

Saffron Valley Farm is a 200-acre working operation in Lafayette, Sussex County, NJ. Equine, aquaculture, and agricultural production are not subjects we studied — they are daily operational realities. When we evaluate a farm management platform, a health monitoring device, or an IoT sensor network, we filter it through the same constraints you face: staff capacity, weather exposure, connectivity, and actual maintenance burden.

02

Genuine Vendor Independence

We carry no vendor relationships, referral agreements, or reseller arrangements of any kind. The equine technology market in particular has significant affiliate economics — many “advisory” services are paid to recommend specific platforms. We are not. Our only financial interest in any engagement is the advisory fee agreed with you at the outset. That independence is what makes our platform comparisons credible.

03

Technology Expertise at Enterprise Scale

The farm’s advisory practice is backed by more than twenty years of enterprise technology experience. Large-scale system selection, vendor evaluation, implementation management, and technology strategy are not new disciplines for this team. We apply the rigour of enterprise technology decision-making to agricultural operations that have historically lacked access to it.

The People

Meet the Advisory Team

Two practitioners. One operational, one technical. Both working from the same farm.

Rattan Whig
Farm Operator · Equine & Aquaculture Lead

Rattan manages day-to-day operations at Saffron Valley Farm — equine care, livestock management, aquaculture systems, and agricultural production. The advisory practice grows directly from the operational experience of running a working farm, not from a consulting background.

His perspective is practitioner-first: what actually works when the technology meets real conditions, real staff, and real weather. He leads all client-facing assessments and is the primary author of the written findings reports.

Sangeeta Whig
Technology Advisor · Platform & Systems Evaluation

Sangeeta brings more than twenty years of enterprise technology experience to the advisory practice. Her background in large-scale technology systems, vendor evaluation, and implementation management is the analytical foundation for how Saffron Valley Advisors structures its platform assessments and recommendations.

She leads technology evaluation methodology, vendor due diligence, and the technical architecture components of advisory engagements. Her enterprise discipline applied to agricultural technology decisions is what distinguishes the practice from generalist farm consulting.

How to Work With Us

Three Ways to Engage

Every engagement starts with a free assessment. After that, the structure follows what your situation requires.

🔍

Project Advisory

A defined scope of work with a fixed deliverable: a platform recommendation, a technology audit, an IoT network design, a grant eligibility report. Scope and fee are agreed before any paid work begins.

Most common first engagement. Typically 2–6 weeks depending on complexity. Deliverable is a written report you own outright.
🔧

Implementation Support

Advisory presence through a technology rollout: platform configuration, staff training design, vendor coordination, and milestone review. For operations that want hands-on support past the recommendation stage.

Scoped as a time-and-deliverable engagement. In-person available within the five-county NJ service area. Remote available anywhere.
📅

Ongoing Retainer

Monthly or quarterly advisory access for operations that want continuous support — new platform evaluations, emerging technology assessments, grant cycle monitoring, and ad hoc questions answered without starting a new project.

Fixed monthly or quarterly fee. Priority scheduling. Includes one formal written update per retainer period.
The First Step

Start With a Free Assessment

A 60–90 minute conversation about your operation — where you are today, what you are trying to solve, and what technology might realistically help. No cost, no obligation. You receive a written summary of our observations within two weeks.

Free assessment includes: operation technology audit · USDA grant programme identification · written summary report · no vendor referral, ever
